At the core of the enamelled box lies a specially formed copper shell This is given several coats of white vitreous enamel which is made from a mixture containing very finely grounded glass. Between every coat of enamel, the box lid and base are fired in a kiln at very high temperatures. Once he right thickness of enamel has been achieved the parts are ready to be hand painted.
Daisy retired in spring of 1998 -- still some small quanties are available.
